The kingdoms of Mataram and Islamic Mataram are indirectly related to each other, but due to historical events, the kingdom was divided so that the remains of Hindu Mataram, Buddhist, Kasunanan, Mangkunegaran, Pakulaman, and the Sultanate were scattered in several museums. This makes the community unable to study the history of Mataram in its entirety in one place.
Responding to the problems, the Mataram Museum is present as an integrated Mataram Kingdom Education Center by providing a collection packaged as a storyline displaying collections from the 7th century Ancient Mataram to 17th century Islamic Mataram. With this concept, the community can comprehend completely and completely the story of the Mataram kingdom in Java.
To be able to experience the development of the ancient Mataram kingdom to Islamic Mataram, the exhibition room will be designed with symbols, materials, colors and an atmosphere that will bring visitors to feel the atmosphere of every historical period.
