Kopi Jengki is a new building inspired by the modern Indonesian architectural style in the 1960s.
This style was chosen to evoke memories for Tan Kim Ho as the owner of his past memories at his parents’ house which is a jengki style. Utilizing an area of 180 square meters, Kopi Jengki is designed with an open concept and maintain its outdoor area.

The garage is used as an activity space
Apart from the garden, the outdoor area also uses the garage as a place to enjoy coffee and snacks. The garage uses a glass roof with a wooden branch ceiling to accent a dramatic shadow.

At the back yard, there is an open garden, a sitting area with a pergola, and toilet facilities.
Kopi Jengki has special access to the owner’s house, Tan Kim Ho. Only employees and owners are permitted through this access.

Interior of the main building
The interior is airy in design, clearly exposing part of the roof without ceiling so that air circulation is optimal.
The roof uses clay tile with glass tile skylights. With natural lighting and optimal natural ventilation, making buildings more energy efficient.

The window on the veranda opens upwards so that it can be used as a bar table that is directly connected to the kitchen.

Night Atmosphere

At closing time, the garage returns to its function of storing vehicles.
